Welcome to Bible by the Bay 2009!
Join us on Sunday, April 26 for Bible by the Bay – Palo Alto. This year at Kehillah Jewish High School we'll be hearing from two keynote speakers. Our opening keynote will be given by Yair Zakovitch, the Father Takeji Otsuki Professor of Bible at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He will examine the transformation of Israel's earliest progenitor in "From Trickster to Patriarch: the Journey from Jacob to Israel."
Our closing keynote will be given by Avivah Zornberg, author of the upcoming book The Murmuring Deep: Reflections on the Biblical Unconscious (Schocken March, 2009). She will be discussing "Letter from an Unknown Woman: Joseph's Dream."
Between the opening and closing keynote speeches will be one session of workshops led by prominent Bay Area scholars, clergy and Lehrhaus Judaica's master teachers.
